Our beliefs determine our decisions. The problem here is that a lot of our beliefs—about ourselves, about money, about what we deserve, and about what’s possible—are unconscious, which means they operate as mental patterns and assumptions that we aren’t aware of most of the time. Our decisions translate into actions that affect our business.

This is how any belief that isn’t good for you, the best version of yourself, and your business could trickle into the day-to-day of business operations.

Entrepreneurship can be a good vehicle for unearthing, processing and healing from trauma. It can act as a sandbox where you encounter triggers that need working on, like:

• Rejection in sales possibly bringing to the surface feelings of worthlessness,
• Difficulty setting boundaries with clients in such a way where you over-give or over-extend—signs of people pleasing
• Showing up on social media or in public can be hard because they can make one feel attacked, mirroring instances in the past where you felt unsafe

This isn’t to say that building a business replaces psychologists and psychiatrists completely. This endeavor is not a substitute, but a supplement, to one’s personal and professional growth. It is a catalyst and a booster.

The demographic I’ve chosen lead disenfranchising and isolated lives. This is not only because of their circumstances but also because the behavioral adaptations gained from living in such conditions don’t align with what institutions would deem as hire-able.

I dream of a community that would empower this special group of people; to help them realize their truth, their autonomy, their purpose, and their sovereignty. Most of all, I would like for this initiative to help them grow not only professionally, but also personally, spiritually, and psychologically, by doing the inner work with the help of entrepreneurship.

Our aim is to help individuals kick hustle and grind culture to the curb, a culture that rewards overworking to escape feelings. We encourage them to begin approaching entrepreneurship as a tool, alongside therapy, to help them face their uncomfortable feelings, fears, and traumas.
